- Grapefruit slice (for garnish)
- Ice
Instructions
-
Prep the glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of a highball glass and dip in Tajin or kosher salt. Fill with ice.
-
Build: Add mezcal, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and a pinch of salt directly to the glass. Stir briefly.
-
Top and serve: Top with grapefruit soda and stir once more. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
Notes
Mexico's most popular cocktail, adapted for mezcal. The grapefruit and smoke are natural partners. If you want more tartness, squeeze in an extra wedge of grapefruit. A salted rim is traditional but Tajin adds a pleasant chili heat.
