- 2 oz mezcal
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz Cointreau or triple sec
- 0.5 oz agave syrup
- Kosher salt (for rim)
- Lime wedge (for garnish)

Prep the glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass. Dip the rim in kosher salt. Fill with ice.

Shake: Add mezcal, lime juice, Cointreau, and agave syrup to a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until the shaker is frosty.

Serve: Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Notes
The smoky flavor of mezcal pairs perfectly with the tart lime and sweet agave. For a lighter smoke profile, use 1.5 oz mezcal and 0.5 oz tequila blanco. For extra heat, muddle jalapeño slices before shaking or rim with chili-lime seasoning instead of salt.
